Blueberries
These amazing berries are on anyone's list of super foods. Recent research shows that they're brain food...although I could never attest to their actual wisdom, feeding blueberries to rats really slows their age-related mental decline. Blueberries contain pterostilbene, a plant compound recently shown to have cholesterol-lowering properties. Their ORAC value (their 'antioxidant rating') is the highest of any fruit. And blueberries are rich in fiber. Here's a tip: Try them frozen. They taste like sherbet! For my late Mum & Dad I would make them a pureed chilled blueberry soup, and I often put one or 2 in each little section of ice trays before filling them up to freeze.
Apples are excellent too, and Red Delicious are tops in antioxidants, they help your body and mind with memory, cancer, asthma, diabetes, and heart disease too.
