Start by macerating the mango and grapefruit overnight with a gentle dusting of 2 teaspoons/packets of sugar or 1 teaspoon/packet of aspartame (Equal).
removing rinds from the lemons, limes, and oranges with a vegetable peeler and cut into thin strips.  Then you should juice these three fruits and strain to remove seeds. After that, pour the juice into a non-reactive saucepan.  Add strips, sugar, and water.  Bring it just to a boil over medium-high heat...then reduce heat to medium low and simmer about 10 minutes, or until mixture becomes syrupy.  Divide the grapefruit & mango segments among serving bowls. Pour syrup over grapefruit & mango segments and chill.  Dice and top with the room temperature banana just before serving.  Serves 4-6.
